Arbroath FC Walking Football team head to Europe today
After winning the East of Scotland Premier league last season Arbroath have sent a strong squad to represent the club in the European Cup held in Salou Spain. The tournament runs from Fri 10th-Sun 12th May with 12 teams from all over Europe. Arbroath have a tough qualifying group including Barcelona. In Dec 2022 Arbroath FC Walking football club met up with Brenda Ross at one of their midweek training sessions to present her with a donation towards a new wheelchair. Brenda was impressed watching the guys in action.
Arbroath FC walking football team were Champions League winners 2022. Trophy handed over by former Scotland manager the late Craig Brown.
Davie Waddle and Gordon Smith were selected to play for a Scotland select team in Oct 2021 down in Nottingham in the Samantha Birtles memorial tournament. Scotland won the tournament beating an England select in the final. Davie and Gordon pictured with Nottingham Forrest legend Gary Birtles who presented the trophy. The trophy now sits within the boardroom cabinet at Gayfield.
